Implemented by ASU Thunderbird School of Global Management, the WEAmericas Accelerator was an intensive, interactive business training program that empowered women entrepreneurs and advanced women-owned businesses in Central America.
With funding from the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Western Hemisphere affairs, ASU-Thunderbird worked with three cohorts of 27 women in Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama — providing intensive training and advising to women-owned businesses and connecting them to potential investors upon successful completion of the accelerator project. The project supported the development of a more equitable business environment in Central America, promoted gender equality for women entrepreneurs and helped to encourage their success through mentorship and access to markets, capital and global networks.
