Home / Reporting Elections Pakistan

With support from the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad, ASU’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication partnered with Media Foundation 360 to train Pakistani journalists in election coverage reporting techniques.

Cronkite faculty members held on-the-ground workshops in three Pakistani cities for 75 practicing journalists in partnership with four Pakistani universities, including Punjab University, the University of Central Punjab, Forman Christian College and the University of Gujrat. They developed and delivered university courses on election media coverage that addressed concepts including democratic electoral processes, the watchdog role of independent media in safeguarding the freedom and fairness of elections, and specific reporting skills to help audiences become fully informed on candidates and platforms.
